On Aug 13, 2019, a grand openning of GPU Hacktheon Accelerated Computing Programming Conference was organized by National Supercomputing Center in Shenzhen (Shenzhen Cloud Computing Center). As SUSTech CCES is a main co-organizer, Dr. Wang Lianping, director of CCSE, and Dr. Fan Jing, chief engineer of CCSE, attended the opening of the hackathon together.
Mr. Wu Jincheng, dean of Department High-Performance Computing of National Supercomputing Center in Shenzhen, gave a speech in the openning ceremony, in which he introduced the agenda of the hacktheon. He expressed that high-performance computing will inject new momentum into Shenzhen's innovative and creative industries and hoped the hackathon can contribute to the exchange and development of GPU-accelerated high-performance computing technology.

The Hackathon also invited Mr. Liu Yongchi, sales director of NVIDIA, and multiple tech exports in GPU programming from NVIDIA. This GPU Hackathon will last for 5 days (from Oct 12, 2019 to Oct 16, 2019), during which tech experts will be assigned to each group to provide students with guidance on OpenACC-based GPU porting of HPC applications. This Hackathon will improve users’ ability on GPU utilization within a short period, laying a foundation for their future in-depth study of GPU-accelerated computing and eventually promoting the independent GPU application development level nationwide.
After the opening, all participants took a group photo together.
