SUSTech CCSE Organizes its First “Deep Learning” Training Course

On July 26, 2019, SUSTech CCSE organized a training course about “Deep Learning”. SUSTech members showed their great passion for this course during registration. Due to the limited capacity of the classroom, only the first 100 registrants were chosen. At the invitation of CCSE, senior lecturers from NVIDIA gave an one-day lively lesson to the 100 SUSTech members.

This course taught students how to apply deep learning to numerous computer vision tasks with a series of hands-on experiments. Students learned to work with general-purpose deep learning tools, frameworks, and workflow on the cloud, training and deploying their neural network models. After briefly studying deep learning, students went further to train and deploy their deep learning applications for image classification and object detection, to improve the accuracy and performance by modifying the neural network, and to do a real project with gained knowledge.

This training laid a good foundation for students' knowledge about deep learning knowledge and skills on setting up GPU server platforms for deep learning tasks. Additionally, some students strongly recommend CCSE to offer more advanced deep learning courses in the future.
