The opening ceremony was followed by SUSTech’s First Symposium on High-Performance Computing. Dr. Fan Jing, chief engineer of CCSE, firstly introduced SUSTech CCSE. Then, Dr. Ge Wei, director of the State Key Laboratory of Multi-Phase Complex Systems, made his report titled Multi-Scale Simulation of Multi-Phase Complex Systems. Next, Dr. Yang Xiaobao from Physics Department of South China University of Technology delivered his presentation named Search and Modeling of Alloy Structure. Later, Mr. Hao Changjie, senior architect on HPC and AI from Lenovo, reported Analysis of Platform Architecture Targeting Typical Industrial HPC Applications. After that, Prof. Georgios Theodoropoulos from Department of Computer Science & Engineering of SUSTech gave his talk titled The Exascale Endeavour, which was followed by an experience share about the development of Shanghai Jiao Tong University’s computing platform by Prof. Lin Xinhua, director of Computation Department of Network & Information Center of SJTU. Last but not least, SUSTech Year-2016 undergraduates Zhao Jiahua and Zheng Shuxin gave their presentations titled From ASC17 to ASC19: Development of SUSTech Student Team on Supercomputing and Optimization Case by Student Supercomputing Team: SWLBM Optimization on Sunway TaihuLight respectively.
